I do not want to suffer, I don't have of suffering a cristian idea. They tell us that suffering lifts the spirit up; but no, suffering is a painful thing and that's it, and it doesn't lift anything up. And so I am not afraid of suffering. Because when it comes to death, I, that in all things I believe to be a moderate, I am an absolute radical. If we have a right to life, we also have a right to death. It's up to us, and we must have recognized the right of choosing the when and how of our death.

Probably in Italy there isn't a landscape and view more beautiful than Maratea. Imagine dozens of miles of cliffs jagged with caves, stacks, precipices and soft beaches which look out over the most beautiful of seas, now wide open, now closed in sparse little docks.

In Italy there is not civil coscience, there is not national integrity that holds togheter a federal government and guarantees civilness between parts. On the other hand I see some civilness glimmer and european calling only in Cisalpine Italy. Elsewhere, instead, is a difficult, if not impossible, disaster to fix. I hope I'm wrong.
